Educators for Racial Justice is led by Dr. Azeb Kinder of The Kinder Group, and Jason Biehl of Change The Narrative, two educators and facilitators, who have been collaborating since 2019 to provide equity assessments, anti-racism training and individual coaching within organizations and school communities.

Co-Founder
Azeb Kinder is an experienced educator, facilitator and trainer who works with individuals, communities and organizations to address and dismantle racially based inequities by transforming their beliefs, assumptions, and behaviors. She is the managing partner and principal consultant of The Kinder Group, a consulting firm with a mission to increase the cultural competency of organizations by leading their stakeholders in developing cultural self-awareness, knowledge, and skills that empower them to effectively communicate and serve diverse populations. A graduate of the University of Michigan, Temple University (MA, Education) and Gwynedd Mercy University (EdD, Educational Leadership), Azeb has over 20 years of experience as a community organizer, educator, and dialogue group facilitator. Throughout her career, she has created and led engaging community outreach programs for a diverse group of parents and students, trained teachers, and facilitated numerous dynamic workshops. Jason Biehl is a history teacher, anti-racist educator, organizer, and writer, who was born and raised in Washington D.C. In 2017, he founded Change The Narrative, and works collaboratively as an educational consultant to further racial equity within organizations and schools. He believes in the benefit of “interrogating whiteness” work and is a trained facilitator, who is active in nurturing anti-racist community. As part of the Showing Up For Racial Justice (SURJ DC) Education team, he designed curriculum and organized a Masculinity and Whiteness Reading Group, which has been transformative for white men in this work. His writing has been published over the past 10 years, by Global Grind, Sense Publishers, Dirt, and Counterpunch. In fall 2022, his piece White Men Reimagined was published by Teaching While White, and What is the Role of White Men in Stopping the Republican Party? was published by The Good Men Project. He has been a featured guest on the podcast Recovery and Transformation with Sameer Dossani, as well as Taking Off The Mask with Ashanti Branch. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a major in African-American Studies and received his Social Studies teaching credential from San Francisco State University. dayna rose is an educator with over 20 years of experience. She started her career working in an alternative school and then went on to teach public middle school for 12 years. For eight years she led evening programs in a juvenile detention facility. After leaving the classroom she went on to join the admin team of a community school and then coach new teachers. dayna has spent a number of years designing and facilitating affinity spaces and training school and community based organizations in antiracist practices, culturally responsive and culturally relevant teaching, the harmful and dangerous impacts of the normalization of whiteness, and white racial and cultural awareness. She currently works part-time with an incredible team at Freedom Soul Media Education Initiatives. She has her BA in Urban Studies, teaching credential, and Masters in Social Justice & Equity in Education from San Francisco State University. dayna lives in Oakland with her partner and toddler.
